All prices given on the web page are the true prices. In Greenland VAT or any other taxes are not added on excursions, accommodation or transportation.
PGI Greenland has a liability-insurance through IF-insurance. PGI Greenland only use approved boats by the Danish Søfartsstyrelsen for passenger sailing, and only boats with valid insurances.
All contracts between buyer and PGI Greenland are made in English.
The web page is continuously updated with new excursions, pictures and news.
You can, without handling fee enroll yourself the tours through our website www.pgigreenland.com or by phone on condition of paying a fee.
Don’t hesitate to contacting us by phone, e-mail or facebook in case you have some doubts regarding the booking. Our department will assist you in this process if it is necessary.
Reservations done on the website are only finally confirmed when the online payment has gone through and you receive a confirmation email.
After we have received your reservation you can receive confirmation, the invoice copy and if necessary other necessary information per e-mail. You can in this way print out these documents yourself as useful documentation about the excursions. (Remember to inform PGI Greenland about possible e-mail and cellphone changes ahead of departure).
If the sent invoice and the registered names do not match to your order, you should contact us right away and make us aware of that.
Some excursions are offered as guaranteed. These excursions are guaranteed when there is a minimum number of participants. This means that even though the minimum number of participants do not reach on the excursion, we will not cancel it. We cannot guarantee in regard to conditions such as weather, technical issues, etc. see below.
If you wish to pay with debit or credit card we impose a surcharge of up to 3,75% of the amount to be paid. This surcharge is imposed on us by credit card companies.
PGI Greenland reserves the right to cancel arrangements on the following conditions: too few participants, bad weather and in any situation beyond the control of PGI Greenland that will prohibit the execution of the excursion in a safe manner. It is respectively the captain of the boat or PGI Greenland guide who decides if the weather permits the execution of the excursion or not – not the customers. If PGI Greenland cancels an excursion, because of the reasons mentioned above, the full amount paid for the excursion will be refunded to the customer.
If the customer has bought other excursions at PGI Greenland, and one excursion influence the other tours in the program, we will with no costs try to adjust the whole program, so everything can be done. If excursions in this connection should be cancelled we also refund those, provided they are ordered through PGI Greenland. PGI Greenland doesn’t undertake the responsibility for other operators’ excursions if changes in the program affects these.
Excursions can, for various reasons, be shortened or changed on the way. It can be the weather, snow conditions on the trail, ice conditions, sea conditions, etc. It relies solely on the guide, who decides how the excursion gets through and subsequently no compensation or refund is given for changed or shortened excursions.
Boat trips can be changed in route and length depending on the weather and iceconditions. It is the captain alone who decides this. Subsequently the lost minutes of sailing will be refunded, if this cross 25% of the excursion altogether. There is no refund on any lacking/missing time on land.
When the excursion is paid for and confirmed, it is possible to cancel, change or hand over the ticket depending on the time horizon you do day (see below). We recommend you to buy a health insurance and a travel insurance so your excursions are ensured in case of you, your travelling companions or nearest family are getting ill. PGI Greenland don’t take the responsibility for delays in the journey to Ilulissat in case of irregularity at tour operators. Should you be delayed in your journey to Ilulissat, which means you can’t participate in a bought excursion, we ask you to contact PGI Greenland as soon as possible. We will in every single case try to move the excursion, but there is no guaranty of this being possible. We strongly advise you to have a travel cancellation insurance. Travel cancellation insurance can be obtained from your local insurer. Sometimes it is also included when your trip is paid by credit card. Please check with your credit card institution.
Any cancellation made 21 days prior to scheduled departure suffers no penalty (bank charges will be charged only if any).
Any cancellation made between 21 and 15 days before the scheduled departure date has a penalty equal to 30% of the total reservation.
Any cancellation made between 14 and 4 days before the planned departure date has a penalty equal to 50% of the total reservation.
Any cancellation made 3 days before the planned departure date has a penalty equal to 100% of total reservation.
If there is any payment at the time of cancellation within the term, it will be considered as a credit for future bookings.
Any change to be performed on confirmed through partial or full payment of the reservation is subject to the availability of the company.
Participation in excursions isn’t possible without the confirmation (in paper or digital) plus a valid picture identification issued by proper authorities such as passport, driver license etc. The confirmation is personal and cannot be used by others.
Certain excursions have a given minimum number of participants. The given number is written in the certain excursions. We do, in few cases, exceptions and go through with fewer participants. Cancellation of excursions because of too few participants can happen up until an hour before the start of the excursion. If this should happen, we will offer something alternative. If this is not possible, we cancel and refund the excursion. In addition to this, no claim for compensation can be done against PGI Greenland.
We reserve the right to change the written times on the ticket. We therefore recommend that you contact PGI Greenland immediately after your arrival to Ilulissat to get an updated program for the day.
The given names of the participants given to PGI Greenland have to agree/be consistent with the names written in the respective authority issued picture ID.
When booking an excursion at PGI Greenland you provide us with your e-mail address. You yourself are responsible for informing us about possible changes of your e-mail account.
PGI Greenland require that you have thoroughly read the excursion description of the ordered excursions. Including that the level of difficulty is matching your physical achievement. You yourself are responsible in case you are not able to complete an excursion due to your physique. There is no refund or compensation, and any possible extra charges caused by interrupting the excursion will fall upon you as a participant.
When you have reserved an excursion at PGI Greenland we gather following information about you: names and gender and selected excursions on all participants and also the following information about the payer; address, e-mail and means of payment. Information is kept safe, so it is possible after the reservation, and up till the dismantling of the tour, to log on with the chosen password and reprint ones tickets and invoice. Your data will be saved 5 years, since it is required that all accounting records are stored for 5 years.
PGI Greenland is responsible for your personal data is not passed on to any other than the above mentioned parties. As registered you always have the possibility for insight and you can raise an objection towards being registered in accordance with the rules of personal data.
Personal information is kept and transmitted non-crypted, however handled on a secure server. Credit card information is handled crypted.
Cookies are easily deleted. If using Internet Explorer, simply select “Functions” -> “settings” -> “delete cookies”.
PGI Greenland renounce any responsibility in proportion to cancelled excursions and compensations to expected experiences. Furthermore we also renounce any liability to pay compensation in proportions to delays which means that the participant lose connection to other transports.
Before the excursion takes place, PGI Greenland reserves the right to demand that our guests, purchasing the excursions directly at our shop, to sign a waiver of liability, based on our business conditions. For guests that purchase the excursion using the web page or by e-mail, the waiver of liability is approved upon payment.
If you book the excursions on behalf of others, we require that you have the authority to approve of these conditions and the waiver of liability for all participants of the group.

Any complaints should be stated during the outing so the unsatisfactory conditions/circumstances can be tried to be solved at once. They are also going to be directed to the managing director of PGI Greenland immediately after the ending of the tour/trip. If you can’t solve the complaint, a written complaint has to be sent no later than 3 weeks after returning from the trip. All proceedings against PGI Greenland are to be brought to the municipal court of Ilulissat in accordance to the Greenlandic judicial system. At PGI Greenland we have to reserve the right to after reservation, to increase the price because of changes in the conditions of purchases, cost of transport (including the price of fuel, taxes, charges or fees like airport-, landing- or take-off fees), foreign exchange quotations or other circumstances that we as organizers can take into account beforehand.
PGI Greenland has the compulsory product insurances. But it doesn’t cover insurance of the participant’s personal belongings. Should personal belongings be damaged or lost on the excursion it is at one’s own expense or insurance. We therefore recommend that you write an insurance that cover these cases before leaving the native country.
We have done our best to avoid misprints in our catalogues, brochures, advertisements and in our website, but of course it could slip. Therefore we make a reservation for misprints in these printed media. Any demand against PGI Greenland is to be brought to the municipal court in Ilulissat in accordance to Greenlandic judicial system.
I have read and accepted the conditions along with the waiver of liability, including the reservation for misprints in the system.
